The Places I've Been To

During my life I've traveled to different places. The most accurate approach of a list of all of them is here:
   Florida
   Saint Martin
   Antigua
   Isla de Margarita
   Saint Thomas
   Barbados
   Aruba
   Cayman Islands
   Cozumel, Mexico
   Roatan Island
   Bahamas
   Grand Turks
   New York
   New Jersey
   Washington, Virginia
   Pennsylvania
   Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Of all the places I’ve been to I personally choose Washington, D.C. as one of the top three places to highlight.  I went there when I was 15 years old in a class Close Up trip. It was the first and only time that I have traveled all by myself (not with my parents) and I was a little nervous about it.  Since the moment we arrived to the airport I felt like a part of me was breaking free.  The climate, the people, the emotions, all of it made me feel like I was finally growing up and becoming an individual with a distinct personality.  I made a lot of new friends whom I had to show who I was and that led me to discover things of me I didn’t know.  Every time I see pictures of those younger than me in the preparatives to this trip I literally feel like crying.  This trip marked a stage in my life that meant a whole new beginning, a complete new self.  I recommend that, however possible, everyone should be able to have an experience like this, specially at such a young age because it builds up a part of a human being that I personally cannot describe but at the same time cannot imagine myself without it.  In addition to the great social enrichment and discovery it represented, this trip had been my most educative and learning traveling I’ve had.

An Introduction To Myself

My name is Erika Alejandra Crespo Martínez and I am a senior student of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus.  I am a 21-year-old female born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.  The place I call home is my house in Aguada, Puerto Rico, where my parents live with my little and only brother Francisco.  My biggest fear are animals in general and even though I am totally against animal abuse, I try not to get myself too near to them. The characteristic that makes me stand out the most is my laugh. I believe that laughing cures all problems and that's the reason why I try to be a smiling and sympathetic person all the time.  In what concerns my academic, social and personal life, dedication and perseverance are what I would call my biggest strengths. At the same time, the fact that I want everything to be done the right way makes me a stressful person, most of the time.  Being so rushed is what I categorize as my worst weakness because it has leaded me to miss from important little details that happen around me.  Music is, by far, my biggest obsession.  I am not a singer, nor I play any instrument, though I wanted to play piano as a little kid, but I live in a never-ending concert.  The song that I most identify with is I lived by OneRepublic.

My future plans are to enter the dental school of the Medical Science Campus of University of Puerto Rico and become a dentist. I really hope to become a good dentist and say that I accomplished by biggest dream.
